I am wrecked for Christ
Philippians 4:13
NKJV says: I can do all things through
Christ which strengthens me.
I finished a book recently that I
highly recommend by Bill Hybels, Holy Discontent.
In any case, Hybels points out that his own
discontent started thousands of years ago when God
made an alliance with an ordinary man named Moses and
that what wrecks the heart of a person who loves God
is often the very thing that God uses when He wants
to fire people up to do something about for which
under normal circumstances they would never attempt
to do. Something Bigger than one’s
self!
I know too that I have been sold
out and wrecked for Christ and that I… we, together,
can join God in making right what is wrong with the
World. But… if we have been exposed to all that is
broken in this world and fail to view it from a
Heaven’s viewpoint, which promises that everything is
being restored, then we will become stuck into an
impossible downward spiral of aggravation and anger
that will not only shorten our lives but will make
for one lousy existence. In other words, keep doing
what you are doing and keep getting what you have
been getting. Cussing at the TV only makes the people
around you CRAZY too!
We, you & me, we need to step
out once again in faith as we move forward and see
what God is really like… experience His amazing power
and ability to do things through us that we might not
otherwise ever have the courage, ability or desire to
do on our own. I believe this stirring in my soul I
personally have been sensing is God saying to me once
again, “Go, go tell them… move and watch me move
through you.” Our God is cool like that. He pushes us
further then we can push ourselves and He blesses us
in ways we never dreamed possible when we heed the
call.
2 Corinthians
3:18 NLT says
this, So all
of us who have had that veil removed can see and
reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is
the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are
changed into his glorious
image.
So if this is true, what are we
waiting for? We need to move forward and trust that
God has this no matter what the outcome of what He
calls upon us to do. The worse that can ever
happen to us, like with Peter, is that we will fall
into the arms of Jesus and that ain’t a bad
deal.
May His peace rush over us as we
take the next step in this amazing journey called
life!
