“Watch me Live my Life” 90-4-90 Challenge
“Watch me Live my Life” 90-4-90 Challenge
Luke 6:46
NASB, Why do
you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I
say?
This Summer I am challenging each
of you to step out in your faith by participating in
the “Watch me Live my Life” 90-4-90 Challenge. Just
as Paul encouraged others to watch and then emulate
his life as he worked out his own Salvation, I am
calling on each of you to do the same. Shouldn’t our
hearts hunger to be all that God has called us to be
and to honor Him by living out His
commandments?
God’s purpose in salvation does not
only consist of freedom from guilt and the penalty of
sin. No question, God does forgive and rescue sinners
from Hell, and He does this on account of what Jesus
did on the cross on our behalf. Yet, God’s purpose in
salvation is broader than that. He also saves people
from the power of sin in their lives so that they may
live righteously for his glory.
It says in Titus 2:14
NKJV,
Christ “who gave
Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every
lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special
people, zealous for good works”
As Christians, as those
who are “saved,” we are to respond by working out our
salvation with “fear and
trembling,” not as repayment for what He has
done for us but rather in gratitude for what He has
done for us.
The challenge is that we need to
honor God in our daily living, just as God commanded.
This not only fulfills what He has commanded, it also
allows for our daily lives to witness to others and
be used as a tool in fulfilling the Great Commission.
What better way can we honor God then by actually
living according to His word. Who knows in what
mighty way He may respond to His people actually
living for Him in all areas of their lives coram
deo. (before the
Face of God)
