You are “the Image” of God

You are “the Image” of God

What would happen if we looked at each other as God designed us, and see’s us? One of the most amazing things taught in the Bible is that God has determined to bring about His kingdom on earth in a particular way. He has chosen to work out his ultimate glory through a special and unique instrument and that unique instrument is you! God has ordained humanity to be the primary instrument by which his kingship will be realized on earth. In the opening chapter of scripture He has given a unique label. If we look carefully at this label, we can learn a lot about ourselves. See Genesis 1:27

You all have heard that we have been made in the image of God but in the original language of Genesis, it actually meant we are made “into” His image. Therefore, humanity is not in the image of God; we actually are “the image” of God.  In the beginning, our creator gave us this remarkable title. The expression of “image of God” designates us as representatives of the Supreme King.

We are humble “images of God” but we are also dignified “images of God” We are images of God - but that is all we are – images.  As the Bible insists, we are not gods; we are merely images.  We are nothing more than images of our creator. However, in god’s eye’s, you are as important as any king and as valuable as any noblemen. Brush away the lies of the world and joyfully acknowledge the dignity God has lavished on you. All people deserve to be treated as honorable images of God.

How would the world be different if we lived according to this truth! What would happen if we looked at each other as God designed us, and see’s us? You and I must come to grips with the reality that people around us as visible symbols of God in the world.  When we dishonor God’s image, we dishonor God and rebel against His heavenly throne.  When we unjustly attack His likeness, we attack Him.

Regardless of our lot in life, we can live according to the precepts of God. Genuine love and kindness will be rewarded. God abundantly blesses those who seek to live obedient lives. Obedient living does not allow for "accidents" in God's plan.  God extends mercy to the merciful.

So take up your calling as one of His… and be reminded that you are surrounded by visible images of the Creator. Represent!
